Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1: Saturday USA - Frankfurt
Depart from your home city for your overnight flight to Frankfurt.
 
Day 2, Sunday Frankfurt - Ruedesheim - Rhine Cruise - Heidelberg - Wiesloch (D)
Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive to Ruedesheim, famous for its wines and vineyards. Take a short Rhine cruise, passing romantic castles, and then continue via motorcoach to Heidelberg where you visit the inner courtyard of the impressive castle and its wine cellar. Enjoy a walking tour of the beautiful old university town. In the evening share a welcome dinner and welcome drink with your fellow travelers. Overnight in Wiesloch at Hotel Palatin, or similar.

Day 3, Monday Wiesloch - Black Forest - Lake Constance (B)
After breakfast depart for the Black Forest, a region known for cuckoo clocks, passing through the town of Triberg and by Lake Titisee. Arrive at the north shore of Lake Constance in the afternoon and enjoy a walking tour of picturesque Lindau. From here it is just a few minutes to Bregenz – well known for its famous annual summertime festival that runs every July/August. Overnight in Bregenz at Hotel Messmer, or similar.

Day 4, Tuesday Lake Constance - Neuschwanstein Castle - Garmisch (B)
Today we move into the Allgäu, viewing the fantastic Bavarian Alps. In Hohenschwangau we visit the fairy tale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein. Stop at another architectural treasure, the glorious Rococo style church of Wies. In the late afternoon arrive in the Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where you will overnight at Hotel Obermühle, or similar.

Day 5, Wednesday Garmisch-Linderhof Castle- Oberammergau-Ettal-Munich (B)
Less known but even more beautiful than Neuschwanstein is Linderhof Castle, which you will visit this morning. Continue to Oberammergau, home of the famous Passion Play which takes place only once every decade, most recently in the year 2000. After a stop at the Benedictine Monastery of Ettal, it’s on to Munich. The late afternoon and is at your leisure. This evening visit the Oktoberfest fairgrounds and enjoy a typical Oktoberfest dinner with beer and entertainment in one of the many beer tents. Overnight at the Hotel Erzgiesserei Europe, or similar.

Day 6, Thursday Munich - Nuremberg (B)
This morning we take an extensive tour of Munich, showing you all the main sights of the splendid Bavarian capital including Nymphenburg Palace. In the afternoon we drive to the historic city of Nuremberg, with its unique medieval city center and embark on a walking tour to see the most interesting sights. Stop at the Reichspartei-tagsgelände, courtroom 600 of the famous Nuremberg Trials and more upbeat locations such as gingerbread bakeries and Bratwurst stands. Overnight at the DERAG Hotel Maximillian, or similar.

Day 7, Friday Nuremberg - Castle Road - Rothenburg (B/D)
After breakfast, drive along the Castle Road to the Romantic Road. Arrive in Rothenburg around noon. After a walking tour of the charming town including the Jakobskirche, with the famous altar designed by Tilman Riemenschneider, you are free to explore on the city on your own. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Tilman Riemenschneider.

Day 8, Saturday Rothenburg - Wuerzburg - Frankfurt (B)
Early in the morning depart for Wuerzburg. Enjoy a tour of the magnificent Residence, a masterpiece of German Baroque architecture. Arrival at Frankfurt in the afternoon. Overnight in Frankfurt hotel.

Day 9, Sunday Frankfurt - USA (B)
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your hotel. Return home today.
