Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1
Depart from your gateway city on a scheduled flight to Rome. Enjoy dinner and breakfast en-route.
 
Day 2
Arrive in Rome and have private transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at your leisure to relax and recover from the trip. Enjoy your first evening in Rome with dinner at a local restaurant.
 
Day 3
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Rome. You will be picked up at your hotel for a city sightseeing tour of the "Imperial Rome". See Piazza Venezia, Roman Forum, Coliseum, Circus Maximus and many more historical highlights of the city with your English-speaking guide. This evening we will see an opera performance (concert schedule to be announced.)
 
Day 4
Full day at your leisure to experience Rome.
Optional excursion to Naples and Pompeii; A journey to discover art, history and archaeology in one of the most typical regions of Southern Italy. You will be able to see the Abbey of Montecassino before arriving in the ancient fishing quarter of Santa Lucia. See the impressive Castle Dell'Ovo, the Royal Palace, the San Carlo Opera House and much more! Continue to Pompeii where you will first stop for lunch before visiting the excavations. Return to Rome.
 
Day 5
After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel for a guided sightseeing tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. The tour will take you past Piazza Della Republica with the Fountain of the Nayads and follow with the ancient Aurelian Walls, which once surrounded the city of Rome. Upon arrival at the Vatican Walls, your guide will take you up the Spiral staircase, through the Gallery of Tapestries of the Vatican Museums before you visit the Sistine Chapel and the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. The afternoon will be free to relax and prepare for a spectacular evening. Enjoy an opera performance in the Teatro Argentina (schedule to be announced) followed by a Gala Evening with dinner and dancing inside the theater.
 
Day 6
Sleep late and enjoy brunch in a local bar/restaurant A farewell dinner tonight is planned with local entertainment.
 
Day 7
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the U.S.
