Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1 USA - Prague
Depart from the US on your international flight. Dinner will be served on board.
 
Day 2 Prague
Arrive in Prague mid morning. Transfer to the hotel and free time. In the late afternoon enjoy a leisurely walk through the old town. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 3 Prague
The morning tour of Prague includes a visit to Prague castle and a backstage tour of the Estates Theater, where Mozart's Don Giovanni was first performed. Enjoy lunch while cruising past the great buildings of the Golden City. Free time in the afternoon is followed by a late afternoon concert at Villa Bertramka, the house where Mozart lived. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Day 4 Karlsein Castle, Prague
Morning excursion to the Bohemian countryside to visit Karlstejn Castle and a glass-blowing factory is followed by a free afternoon in Prague. Upon returning to Prague you have some free time before we take you to the outskirts for a typical Czech Dinner with musical entertainment. Alternatively you may chose to attend a ballet performance at Prague State Opera (optional).

Day 5 Prague
This morning explore Prague Castle with the local guide. See the interior of the Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and the walk the “Golden Lane” which leads from the Castle to Lesser Town, ending at Charles Bridge. The afternoon is at your leisure in Prague. After dinner enjoy a performance of Dvorak’s opera “Rusalka” at the National Theater.

Day 6 Prague – Cesky Krumlov - Salzburg
After breakfast departure for Salzburg with a stop to visit the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, an UNESCO World Heritage Site south of Prague. Lunch in Cesky Krumlov is included. Arrival in Salzburg is planned for mid-afternoon. After dinner at the hotel you will either attend a performance of “Don Giovanni” at the renowned Theater of Marionettes, or “The Bartered Bride” at the Theater of Salzburg.

Day 7 Salzburg
This morning is dedicated to explore Salzburg and the sights related to its famous son. Visit Mozart’s Birthplace, his Residence and the special Mozart 2006 exhibition “Viva Mozart” which can only be viewed this year. After lunch on your own, the tour of Salzburg continues, ending in the early afternoon. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Tonight attend the Mozart Dinner Concert. Listen to the music and arias by Mozart while enjoying a menu that is prepared following recipes from Mozart’s times. The Mozart Dinner concert starts at 8:00 pm, and the location is close to Salzburg Cathedral where at 6:00 pm you can listen to the “Sakramentslitanei KV 243” (optional).

Day 8 Salzburg, Lake District
This morning is at your leisure in Salzburg to explore more of this fascinating city on your own. In the afternoon we take you to the lovely surroundings of Salzburg, the Lake District. This excursion also includes St. Gilgen where Mozart’s mother was born. The evening is at your leisure. Your local guide will be more than happy to help with restaurant suggestions. We will also provide you with a list of scheduled events and you may opt to purchase tickets to a concert or opera.

Day 9 Salzburg – Vienna
This morning depart from Salzburg for the final destination of the trip: Vienna. Travel past lakes and along the Danube to Melk. Visit the Benedictine Abbey of Melk, a Baroque Masterpiece standing high above the river. A light lunch will be served at the Abbey Restaurant before continuing the trip on to Vienna. Upon arrival in Vienna, time to relax before tonight’s performance of “The Magic Flute” at Vienna State Opera. Dinner arrangements depend on the time of the performance.

Day 10 Vienna
Morning tour of Vienna includes a visit to Schoenbrunn Palace, and all Mozart related sights such as the Mozart House (former Figaro House). You will also visit the Central Cemetery, resting place of famous composers, painters, and poets. Rest of the day at leisure. Optional: Strauss’ “Gypsy Baron” at the Volks Opera.

Day 11 Vienna
Optional: attend Mass with the Vienna Boys’ Choir at the Imperial Chapel and/or a gala performance of the Lippizan horses of the Spanish Riding School, both venues are located in the Imperial Palace Complex. In the late morning continue the tour of Vienna with a visit to the Imperial Palace and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the church of Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Strauss. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner is followed by a concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the renowned Musikverein.

Day 12 Vienna Woods
Morning at leisure in Vienna. After lunch on own, departure for the Vienna Woods with a visit to the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, the former Imperial Hunting Lodge of Mayerling and the Helenental. You will have time to pack and get ready for your return flight. Tonight we take you to one of the wine-growing villages in the outskirts of Vienna for a typical Heurigen Dinner with local entertainment. You will also get a last glimpse of Vienna from the birds’ eyes view while riding the famous Giant Ferris Wheel.

Day 13 Vienna – USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
