Morning is at leisure (we suggest a visit to St. Peter's Basilica). In the afternoon city sightseeing tour including: Piazza Venezia with its impressive monument dedicated to king Victor Emanuel II and the Unknown Soldier then continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo from where you will have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. Our coach will continue via the Circus Maximus and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius before arriving at the Basilica of St Paul outside the Walls (visit inside). The tour will be completed with a stop at the imposing Colosseum. Return to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free.

ROME SIENA FLORENCE |
Departure at 8:00 am from your hotel by deluxe motorcoach for Siena. Free time at leisure to visit this interesting town and medie¬val center: the famous Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral. In the afternoon we head for Florence. Overnight stay.

FLORENCE PISA FLORENCE |
Morning visit of Florence. This city, which is of Etruscan-Roman origin, flourished during the Middle Ages as a free commune; under the. Medici princes it was further enriched by notable masterpieces of Renaissance art. It is one of the most beautiful Italian cities. Morning sightseeing tour includes: the Duomo, the Baptistery, with the Golden Doors of Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell Tower, Loggia della Signoria, the Academy of Fine Arts with the original David by Michelangelo. Afternoon departure for Pisa. Visit Piazza dei Miracoli, the exterior of the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower and the Baptistery, back to Florence. Overnight stay.

Day 5, Wednesday |
FLORENCE PADUA VENICE |
Morning is at leisure. In the late morning depart to Padua, an ancient university town with arcaded streets, in time to visit St. Anthony's Basilica and tomb, and the Scrovegni Chapel, with Giotto's precious frescoes. One-hour drive to reach Venice and your hotel. Remaining afternoon hours at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
In the morning a sightseeing walk will take you to the heart of the city, the impressive St. Mark's Square, to view the great Basilica, a masterpiece of Romanesque-Byzantine architecture, and its interior lined with fine mosaics. You will also see the Campanile (clock tower), the Palace of the Doges, with masterpieces by Titian and Tintoretto, the Bridge of Sighs, and the city's "main street", the Grand Canal, flanked by historic palaces. Lunch on your own. The afternoon will be at your leisure, available for a visit to other well¬known landmarks or for an optional motorlaunch tour to the lagoon islands. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

VENICE VERONA LAKE GARDA MILAN |
In the morning depart for Verona. Stop to visit the exterior of the Roman Arena (this 1900 year old theatre is still used today during summer for opera and ballet performances) and Juliet's House. In the early afternoon we proceed to Desenzano, to see Lake Garda, and then go on to Milan, the largest industrial, commercial and banking center in Italy. Overnight stay at the hotel.

MILAN SAN MARINO |
Morning city sightseeing of Milan including the Duomo (the largest building in Gothic style in Italy, located in the very heart of the city) and La Scala Opera House. Continue to San Marino, a country within a country and one of the oldest republics in Europe. Overnight stay at the hotel.

SAN MARINO ASSISI ROME |
Departure to Assisi. Drive through verdant hilly countryside to Assisi, a quaint Umbrian town on a hillside, with a mystical atmosphere, birthplace of St. Francis where every step, every stone reminds us of him. We will see the great Franciscan basilica and its frescoes (Giotto and Cimabue), the church dedicated to St. Claire, visit Santa Maria degli Angeli and many other famous religious landmarks. After sightseeing and lunch, continue to Rome with arrival in the early evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
