Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1, Sunday ROME
Arrival in Rome. Private transfer from airport/railway station to your hotel in historic city center of Rome. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this magnificent city. You may chose to visit the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum and/or take a tour of the Colosseum. Join the group for a welcome dinner at a typical Roman restaurant. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 2, Monday ROME – SIENA – FLORENCE
After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel by deluxe motorcoach for Siena. Upon arrival to the Siena, home of the Palio, you will have time at your leisure to visit the famous Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral. In the afternoon we head for the Renaissancee city of Florence. In the evening dinner will be served at the hotel. Overnight in Florence.
 
Day 3, Tuesday FLORENCE
This morning we will tour Florence. This city, which is of Etruscan-Roman origin, flourished during the Middle Ages as a free commune; under the Medici princes it was further enriched by notable masterpieces of Renaissance art. The morning sightseeing tour includes: the Duomo, the Baptistery, with the Golden Doors of Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell Tower, Loggia dell a Signoria, and the Academy of Fine Arts with the original David by Michelangelo. In the afternoon you will have some time rest or continue touring this beautiful city on your own. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Overnight in Florence.
 
Day 4, Wednesday FLORENCE – PISA - PADUA – VENICE
After breakfast we will depart for an excursion to Pisa. Visit Piazza dei Miracoli, the exterior of the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower and the Baptistery. In the late morning depart to Padua, an ancient university town with arcaded streets, in time to visit St. Anthony's Basilica and tomb, and the Scrovegni Chapel, with Giotto's precious frescoes. One-hour drive to reach Venice and your hotel. Remaining late afternoon hours at leisure. Overnight in Venice.
 
Day 5, Thursday VENICE
In the morning visit of this ancient city, which was a very important commercial and political center during the Renaissance. Venice is rich in monuments and churches; we will visit the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark's Square and Cathedral. The afternoon will be at your leisure, for a visit to other well-known landmarks go on an optional motorlaunch tour to the lagoon islands. Overnight in Venice.
 
Day 6, Friday VENICE – VERONA – LAKE GARDA – MILAN
After breakfast at the hotel the group departs for Verona, the city known for the setting in Shakesphere's masterpiece, "Romeo and Juliet." The tour includes a view of Juliet's house and balcony. You will also visit the Roman Arena, which is used today for theatrical performances. On the way to Milan, the tour will stop at Lake Garda, the largest Italian Lake. Overnight in Milan.
 
Day 7, Saturday MILAN – SAN MARINO
In the morning the group will tour Milan's most important sites. Visit of the historic center, now the most industrial city of Italy. The tour includes the Duomo, in the Gothic style, and La Scala Opera House. Continue to San Marino, one of the smallest states in the world that still has its own currency, stamps and preserves its political system for over nine centuries. Overnight in San Marino.
 
Day 8, Sunday SAN MARINO – ASSISI – ROME
Departure to Assisi. Drive through the hilly countryside to Assisi, a quaint Umbrian town on a hillside, with a mystical atmosphe¬re, birthplace of St. Francis. We will see the great Franciscan Basilica and its fre¬scoes (Giotto and Cimabue), the church dedicated to St. Claire, a visit of Santa Maria degli Angeli and many other famous religious landmarks. After sightseeing and lunch, continue to Rome, and arrive in the early evening. Overnight in Rome. your hotel.
 
Day 9, Monday ROME
Breakfast at the hotel and depart at 8:00 am for a full-day sightseeing including: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Pantheon, St. Peter's Square and the basilica. In the afternoon you will visit the colosseum, view the Roman Forum and the Imperial Forum, and the Basilica of St. Paul. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 10, Tuesday ROME
Today at your leisure to see more Roman sights. We suggest joining in the morning (not included in the price) the optional excursion to the Vatican Museums to admire: the Candelabra Gallery, the Tapestry Gallery, the Gallery of Maps, the Rooms of Raphael (with the master's magnificent frescoes), the Sistine Chapel (adorned with Michelangelo's famous masterpieces), the Sacred Art Museum and Bernini's Royal Staircase. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 11, Wednesday ROME
After breakfast at the hotel you may choose to take an optional excursion or visit some more sights on your own such as as the Baths of Caracalla or the Catacombs. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 12, Thursday ROME – NAPLES – POMPEI – SORRENTO
Departure to Naples along the Sun Route highway. Short visit of the city founded in the 7th century BC by the Greeks, Via Carracciolo, the sea front promenade, the Castle d'Ovo, San Carlo Opera House, Royal Palace, and continue to Pompei and visit the excavations of the Roman town destroyed in 79 AD by Vesuvius. Continue to Sorrento. Overnight stay.
 
Day 13, Friday SORRENTO – POMPEI – SORRENTO
After breakfast transfer to the port of Sorrento to board the ship to the Isle of Capri. After cruising for 45 minutes arrival at Marina Grande, the port of Capri. We board motorboats to visit the Blue Grotto, weather and sea conditions permitting. Return to Marina Grande where we board minibuses for a panoramic tour of the Isle of Capri, the village situated between Mount Tiberio and Mount Solaro, Anacapri, the highest village of the isle, where we view a stupendous panorama of the Bay of Naples. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon proceed to the hotel. The rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight stay.
 
Day 14, Saturday SORRENTO – ROME
This morning at your leisure. Departure in the afternoon for Rome. Overnight in Rome.
 
Day 15, Sunday ROME
Private departure transfer from hotel to airport or railway station.
