Arrive in Dresden late morning and meet your tour escort, who will be with you until departure from Berlin. After check-in, you have plenty of time to relax and recover from the trip. Later in the afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the old town of Dresden. This tour will include a visit to the Frauenkirche, which was destroyed during World War II and has been reconstructed as a landmark symbol of reconciliation. A Welcome dinner will be served in a local restaurant or at the hotel.

Enjoy some free time in Dresden in the morning. In the late morning visit the Historical Green Vault Collection housed in the Royal Palace. The Green Vault is among Europe’s most exquisite and most famous treasure chambers. After lunch on your own we take you to Meissen, the historic cradle of Saxony. Albrechtsburg Castle is considered to be the earliest example of a residential castle in Germany. Meissen is not only famous for the porcelain manufactory, which you will visit as well, but also for it’s quaint houses with pointed roofs and gables. Dinner will be served in a restaurant in Meissen before returning to Dresden

This morning depart for your excursion to discover Salzburg, the city of music. Travel through the lower part of the Bavarian Alps, called the Chiemsee. Upon your arrival in Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, you will be met by our local representative for a guided tour of the city, known as the Rome of the North, with its many palaces and squares. After your tour, enjoy dinner in a downtown restaurant. You have free time to shop and explore on your own. Dinner will be served in a typical restaurant in downtown Salzburg before you return to Munich.

Dresden – Leipzig - Berlin (B/L) |
After breakfast depart Dresden to head for the next destination – Berlin, the capital of Germany. The first stop will be in Leipzig, a prime intellectual and music center. During a guided city tour you will be able to admire the Old Town Hall in Renaissance Style, the Market Place dating back to the 12th century, the Old Exchange and of course St. Thomas Church, where Bach worked as an organist and choirmaster. Lunch will be served in the famous Auerbachs Keller, known from Goethe’s “Faust”. You have some free time before we depart for Berlin. After arrival in Berlin, the rest of the day is at leisure and dinner is on your own.

Berlin, Parliament, Charlottenburg Palace Concert (B/D) |
After breakfast at the hotel, meet with your Berlin guide for an extensive sightseeing tour of Germany’s new capital. You will see Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, the Cathedral, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the Victory Column and many other sights. The tour will end at the Reichstag, the German Parliament Building. The building with its distinctive glass dome (by Sir Norman Foster) is home to the German Federal Parliament since 1998. The guide will take you to the glass dome and explain the panoramic views to you. Lunch will be served at the Rooftop Restaurant of the Reichstag. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to explore Berlin on your own. Tonight you will visit of the magnificent premises of Charlottenburg Palace, the largest and most beautiful Palace in Berlin, followed by a gourmet three-course candlelight dinner served at the Orangerie of Charlottenburg Palace. Afterwards, you will enjoy an unforgettable evening of music with masterworks of the Baroque and classical eras

Following breakfast, the guide will take you to the Museum Island, a complex of museums in Berlin’s historic center, which is a part of UNESCO’s world’s cultural heritage. Among the highlights of Berlin’s art treasures is the Pergamon Altar (dating back to 2 c BC) housed in the Pergamon Museum, which is also home to the Roman Market Gate of Miletus. On the Museum Island you will also find the Egyptian Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Bode Museum just to name a few. The afternoon is at leisure; you may want to stay on the Museum Island or take an optional tour. Dinner tonight is on your own.

New Synagogue, Potsdam (B) |
You may either enjoy a leisurely morning in Berlin on your own, or join the guide for a visit to the great “Neue Synagoge”. The Synagogue used to be the symbol of Jews in Germany before the Shoah, and it is today a museum, named “Centrum Judaicum”, which tells the story of Berlin’s Jews. The Synagogue houses the permanent exhibition “Open ye the Gates”. After lunch on your own, we leave for Potsdam, the city of palaces and gardens. Enjoy a tour of the Palace of Sanssouci, and walk through the Park with the Chinese Tea House, the Orangerie, and the Sicilian Gardens. Potsdam was the meeting place of the Potsdam Conference in 1945. During this meeting the principal allies, USSR, Great Britain and USA, discussed how to administer Germany. We return to Berlin and the evening is at your leisure.

Eisenman Memorial, Jewish Museum or German and Berlin Cathedral (B/D) |
This morning we start our sightseeing tour by visiting the War Memorial. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in the center of Berlin is Germany’s central Holocaust memorial site, a place of remembrance and commemoration of six million victims. The Memorial consists of the Field of Stelae, designed by architect Peter Eisenman, with 2711 stelaes, and the underground information center. A guided tour of the information center is followed by free time to visit the Field of Stelae at your own pace. After lunch on your own, we meet again and you can choose to either join the guide and visit the Jewish Museum housed in Daniel Liebeskind’s impressive zigzag building. The Jewish Museum is a permanent exhibition exploring the highs and lows of 2000 years of German-Jewish history from the Roman era up to the present times. Or join another guide to visit the German Cathedral, home to the permanent exhibition “Questions on German History”. This is followed by a tour of the Berlin Cathedral, the largest 19th century Protestant Church with an impressive, elaborate organ. A Farewell dinner will be served in a local restaurant.
