Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1 USA - Munich
Depart on a regular scheduled flight to Munich.
 
Day 2 Munich
Upon your arrival into Munich you will be met by your driver and brought to a Munich Hotel, where you will stay for the next six nights of your tour. The remainder of your arrival day is at leisure - so you can choose to recuperate from you transatlantic flight or explore this lively city at your pace.

Day 3 Munich
After breakfast, you will meet your guide in the hotel lobby, for an extensive city tour of Munich. First, visit Nymphenburg Castle, a baroque palace that was the former residence of Bavarian monarchs. Afterwards, the tour will take you to the Residence, the Opera, the Olympic Grounds, the Marienplatz and City Hall, the Church of St. Peter and more. This afternoon, you may want to stroll around the Munich Christmas Market. This evening, enjoy a Welcome dinner, in an authentic German restaurant in Munich.

Day 4 Oberammergau - Neuschwanstein Castle
After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby, where the tour will head south. The first stop is the town of Oberammergau, which hosts the Passion Play held once every decade. Next, you will stop at the Church of the "Flagellated Saviour in the Meadow" in Wies. This is one of the most beautiful rococo churches in Germany. Enjoy a light lunch before you visit Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, in Hohenschwangau.

Day 5 Nuremberg - Regensburg
This morning the tour heads north, to the city of Nuremberg. A city tour of this metropolis will be provided upon your arrival, which will include a brief stop at the famous courtroom of the Nuremberg Trials, the beautiful old town still surrounded by a stone wall and gates, the Hauptmarkt, the Kaiserburg and more. While visiting the world's largest and most famous Christmas Market, you must sample a Nuremberg Rostbratwuerste - a grilled sausage available only in Nuremberg. Before returning to Munich, you will visit Regensburg's quaint, unique Christmas Market.

Day 6 Salzburg
Today, enjoy a full day excursion to the city where the famous composer Mozart was born - Salzburg. Begin with a walking tour through the old town, taking in all the important sights - the Festival House, Mozart's Birthplace, the Cathedral, and more. Depending weather conditions, either a trip up to the Fortress Hohensalzburg or a tour of the Mozart Gerburtshaus will be provided today. You will have free time to spend on your own, strolling around, visiting the beautiful Christmas Market and sampling the most famous candy in Salzburg, the Mozartkugeln. Return to Munich later this afternoon.

Day 7 Rothenburg - Augsburg
After breakfast, travel to Rothenburg, the ancient jewel of Germany. During a city walk, you will learn much about this charming, medieval town. See the famous Jakobskirche, with its spectacular altar by the woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. You will have some free time to enjoy the Christmas Market and local shops, including its world famous Christmas shop. Before returning to Munich, stop in Augsburg, for a brief orientation tour & Christmas Market visit. This evening, enjoy your farewell dinner at the traditional, impressive Ratskeller, located in the basement of city hall.

Day 8 Munich - USA
Following breakfast and hotel check-out, transfer on your own* to the airport for a regular scheduled flight back to the United States.
