Day 1
Depart from the United States for your international flight to Prague.
Day 2
Arrive in Prague mid morning. Transfer to the hotel and free time to relax and recover from the transatlantic flight. In the evening get a first impression of the “Golden City” as you cruise along the Vltava River, past the illuminated sights, while enjoying dinner with entertainment.
Day 3
This morning you will see the most important sights of the Czech Capital during the Grand City Tour. After lunch enjoy a guided walking tour of the old town of Prague to include the Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock. Free time in the afternoon is followed by a concert at Villa Bertramka, the house where Mozart lived.
Day 4
Today’s morning excursion to the Bohemian countryside to visit Karlsteijn Castle and a glass-blowing factory is followed by a free afternoon in Prague. Tonight enjoy a performance in one of Prague’s opera houses.
Day 5
This morning tour Prague Castle. See the interior of the Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and the walk the “Golden Lane” which leads from the Castle to Lesser Town, ending at Charles Bridge. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 6
After breakfast a transfer will take you to the train station where you will board the train to Vienna. The travel time is about 4 hours. In Vienna you will be met at the station for the transfer to the hotel. Enjoy some time on your own to relax and discover Vienna. Tonight, dinner at Schoenbrunn Palace is followed by a concert at the Orangery.
Day 7
During a morning tour of Vienna you will see the most important sights of Austria’s Capital. This tour includes a visit to the State Apartments at Schoenbrunn Palace. After lunch on your own, you will have a guided tour of the 1st district to include the Imperial Palace Complex, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the House of Music. You will also visit the Central Cemetery, resting place of famous composers, painters, and poets. This evening attend either an opera or operetta at one of Vienna’s opera houses.
Day 8
The morning is at leisure in Vienna. In the afternoon, a guided tour will take you to the Vienna Woods. You will visit the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, the former Imperial Hunting Lodge of Mayerling and the Helenental. Tonight you will be served a typical Heurigen Dinner with local entertainment in one of the wine growing villages surrounding Vienna. You will also get an impression of Vienna from a birds’ eyes view while riding Vienna’s famous Giant Ferris Wheel (known from the movie “The Third Man”).
Day 9
Today join a full-day excursion to the Wachau Valley, the most beautiful stretch of the Danube Valley with its rolling hills, vineyards, castles and ruins. You will visit the Abbey of Melk, a Baroque masterpiece situated on a bluff above the river Danube. A boat ride on the Danube is included in today’s excursion. Possibility of attending a performance.
Day 10
A mid-morning transfer will take you to Vienna’s Westbahnhof Station. The train travel between Vienna and Salzburg is about 3 hours. In Salzburg, a transfer will bring you to your centrally located hotel. Tonight attend the Mozart Dinner Concert. Listen to music and arias by Mozart, while enjoying a menu that is prepared following recipes from Mozart’s times.
Day 11
The guided tour “On the Traces of Mozart” will show you the impressive monuments erected during the reigns of the Prince Archbishops, Mozart’s Residence (interior visits), and Hellbrunn Palace. The afternoon is at your leisure to explore this fascinating city on your own. Tonight enjoy a performance at either the Theater of Marionettes or the Fortress.
Day 12
In the afternoon we take you to the lovely surroundings of Salzburg, the Lake District. This excursion also includes St. Gilgen where Mozart’s mother was born. See Lake Fuschl, Lake Wolfgang and Lake Mondsee. A boat trip on Lake Wolfgang is included in this excursion.
Day 13
A transfer will take you to either Salzburg or nearby Munich Airport to catch your flight back home.
